Check Available 2026 PackagesUmrah flights from Multan leave from Multan International Airport (MUX), and the Multan routes below were checked on 25 September 2026.
For Multan pilgrims, connecting options, Ihram timing and baggage rules are explained in our Umrah flights guide.
Hotels, inclusions, prices, documents and departure day are explained once in our full guide — pick the part your Multan trip needs:
Multan International Airport had non-stop Jeddah flights on PIA, Airblue and Saudia, and non-stop Madinah flights on PIA and Airblue, when we checked. That makes Multan the natural departure point for South Punjab, with no need to drive to Lahore. Choose your package by the Makkah hotel's walking distance, plan carefully for heat if travelling in summer, and book early for Ramadan and the winter holidays.
Multan, the City of Saints, has a long tradition of devotion, and many families here save for years to send parents for Umrah. The good news is that Multan is well connected. Its international airport had non-stop flights to both Jeddah and Madinah when we checked, so South Punjab pilgrims don't have to drive north to Lahore to reach the Haramain.
Multan also serves as the airport for a wide region: Khanewal, Muzaffargarh, Lodhran, Vehari, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan and beyond. Many Multan Umrah groups mix city families with relatives from these districts. That means planning a gathering, a group flight and documents for everyone.
This guide covers flights, the Multan-or-Lahore choice, South Punjab's heat and dust, packages and quotes, and planning for elders and big groups. For the Umrah rites, visa rules and hotel categories in general, see our complete Umrah guide.
When we checked airline schedules on 25 September 2026, Multan (MUX) had:
| Route | Airlines found | Approximate flight time |
|---|---|---|
| Multan–Jeddah non-stop | PIA, Airblue, Saudia | About 5–6 hours |
| Multan–Madinah non-stop | PIA, Airblue | About 5 hours |
Schedules change by season, and Madinah flights run on fewer days than Jeddah flights. Always ask for the flight numbers, times and baggage allowance for your exact dates. Some fares sold as "direct" stop in the Gulf, so check before paying.
For most Multan families, Multan is the obvious choice: no long drive, a smaller airport and flights to both holy cities. Lahore makes sense only in specific cases:
| Option | Pros | Cons | Choose when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Multan non-stop | Close to home; Jeddah and Madinah | Fewer airlines than Lahore | Most of the time |
| Lahore non-stop | Five airlines to Jeddah; more dates | Long drive; overnight stay | No Multan flight fits your fixed dates |
| Connecting via the Gulf | Sometimes cheaper | Layovers; tiring | Fit, budget-first pilgrims |
If you do consider Lahore, compare door to door, including the car, fuel and a night's stay, not just the fare.
Because Multan has non-stop flights to both cities, you can choose how your trip starts:
For most Multan families the airport is a manageable drive. Still, city traffic around the old city, the main bazaars and busy roads at peak times can slow things down. Aim to reach the airport at least three hours before departure, because Umrah flights carry big groups.
If you live in the old city, where streets are narrow, consider loading luggage from a relative's house with easier access. Keep passports, Ihram and medicines in one hand bag with one responsible person. If you want transport arranged, ask for it in your quote. It is only included if listed.
Multan is famous for its heat, and South Punjab families are more used to it than most. But Makkah's heat is different: fierce sun reflected off white marble and stone, and long walks in the open with crowds. Even hardy Multan elders can be exhausted by day three of a summer trip.
Relatives from across South Punjab often fly from Multan. If they're joining your group:

| Category | Makkah hotel | Rooms | Usually suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Economy | Further out; shuttle common | Quad or shared | Fit, budget-first, repeat pilgrims |
| 3 Star | Walkable, not the closest | Double to quad | First-timers, couples, small families |
| 4 Star | Closer, shorter walk | Double to quad | Families with elderly parents |
| 5 Star | Nearest band | Double to quad | Very elderly, Ramadan, special trips |
For families with parents, a mixed package works well: a closer hotel in Makkah, where distance matters most, and a 3 star in Madinah, where many hotels are near Masjid an-Nabawi.
Check the hotel name and walk, whether the flight is non-stop, whether meals are included, and whether the room is quad. The gap nearly always hides in one of these.
Common delays: elders' older documents with different spellings, married women's surnames, children without passports, and vaccinations taken too late. Relatives from outlying districts should bring their documents to Multan early, because trips back and forth take time.
| Travel period | Demand | Advice |
|---|---|---|
| Ramadan | Very high | Book as early as possible; Multan seats serve a big region |
| Rajab and Sha'ban | High | Popular pre-Ramadan window |
| December–January | High | Pleasant weather; family season |
| Summer | Moderate | Very hot; closer hotel essential |
| Muharram and Safar | Lower | Best value |
Madinah first, a closer Makkah hotel and rest days between travel, Umrah and Ziyarat. Request wheelchair assistance when the ticket is issued, and keep medicines in hand baggage.
Saudi rules have relaxed for adult women in organised groups, but operator policies and document checks vary. Tell the operator about every woman travelling, and ask for rooms with family members.
One coordinator, one flight, one meeting point. Mixed budgets can share an itinerary with different hotels.
Every child needs a passport, plus a B-Form or FRC. A family quad room is usually best value.
The package covers the trip itself. Daily life in Makkah and Madinah is extra, and Multan families who plan for it in advance travel far more relaxed. Amounts depend on your habits and the exchange rate, so agree a daily figure per person before you leave.
| Extra cost | When it applies | How to keep it down |
|---|---|---|
| Lunch and dinner | Room-only or breakfast packages | Eat at the many Pakistani and Indian restaurants near pilgrim hotels; share large plates |
| Taxis | When the shuttle isn’t running, or elders are tired | Plan Haram visits around shuttle hours; share within the group |
| SIM or eSIM | Maps, WhatsApp and Nusuk | One data plan per family, shared by hotspot |
| Laundry | Stays longer than a week | Quick-dry clothes; wash small items in the room |
| Ziyarat | If not in the package | Join a group tour rather than hiring a private car |
| Wheelchair or pusher | For elderly or less mobile travellers | Bring a light folding chair, or arrange one early |
| Gifts and excess baggage | On the way home | Check the return allowance and Zamzam rules before shopping |
This example shows a comfortable pace for a first Umrah from Multan. Your operator adapts it to your flights, hotels and whether you start in Makkah or Madinah.
| Days | Where | Plan |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Makkah | Arrive, check in, rest; perform Umrah when ready |
| 2 | Makkah | Recovery day — prayers in the Haram, no extra walking |
| 3–5 | Makkah | Prayers, Tawaf at quieter hours, one morning of Ziyarat |
| 6 | To Madinah | Road or Haramain train; check in and rest |
| 7–9 | Madinah | Prayers in Masjid an-Nabawi, Rawdah at your Nusuk slot, Ziyarat over two mornings |
| 10–11 | Departure | Pack, weigh bags, transfer to the airport and fly home |
The principle is simple: travel days, the Umrah itself and Ziyarat each get their own day, with rest in between. It keeps everyone well enough to worship on every day of the trip.
This is a planning overview for Multan pilgrims, not a substitute for learning the fiqh from a scholar you trust. Knowing the order explains why hotel distance and rest days matter so much.
Allow three to five hours for the whole sequence, and longer in crowds. That is why a long journey, a late check-in and a distant hotel together make the first night so demanding — and why resting first is sometimes the wiser choice.
Most packages offer a short programme of visits to places connected with the life of the Prophet ﷺ and early Islamic history. Check whether Ziyarat is included in your quote and which sites are covered.
Spread Ziyarat over separate mornings rather than one long, hot day, especially with elders, and don’t schedule it on the same day as a long journey.
Many South Punjab families still drive to Lahore out of habit. Multan usually saves hours.
Multan's Madinah flights give elders a gentle start.
Being used to Multan's summers doesn't make long walks on hot marble easy. Pay for distance.
Multan's flights serve a whole region, so seats go fast.
A Saraiki-speaking group leader helps elders follow the rites and Ziyarat.
Always check local flights first.
Choose a closer hotel and plan walks for cooler hours.
Ask for flight numbers and stops.
Collect them early.
Check the operator and pay only a business account.
Multan gives South Punjab its own direct route to both holy cities. Use it well by choosing a close Makkah hotel, planning for heat and booking peak seasons early.
A practical takeaway: ask for the hotel names, flight numbers and baggage in writing, and compare quotes on those three things before price.
