Quetta Umrah Guide 2026

Umrah from Quetta in 2026: Local Flights, Karachi Options and Planning

Quick Answer

Quetta International Airport had non-stop Jeddah flights on PIA on limited days when we checked, and no Madinah flights. When the local flight fits your dates, it's by far the easiest option. Otherwise, Quetta pilgrims connect via Karachi, which has Pakistan's widest choice of Jeddah and Madinah flights. Book early, keep connections on one ticket, and pack for Makkah's heat.

Umrah from Quetta at a Glance

Quetta is Balochistan's capital and the only city in the province with scheduled Umrah flights of its own. For Quetta families, that local flight is a great advantage when it runs on the right day: no long journey to another city, and a short trip to an airport you know.

The challenge is frequency. With one airline on limited days, and no Madinah flights, Quetta families often need a plan B, and that plan B is Karachi. Getting that choice right, and making the connection safely if you use it, is the most important part of planning Umrah from Quetta.

Quetta also gathers pilgrims from Chaman, Pishin, Ziarat, Mastung and much of northern Balochistan. This guide covers flights, connections, climate, regional groups and every planning step. For the Umrah rites and hotel categories, see our complete Umrah guide, and for the wider province, our Balochistan guide.

Quetta and Karachi Flights

When we checked airline schedules on 25 September 2026:

AirportNon-stop to JeddahNon-stop to MadinahFlight time to Jeddah
Quetta International Airport (UET) PIA, on limited days None found about 5½ hours
Jinnah International Airport (KHI) PIA, Airblue, Fly Jinnah, Saudia, flynas, flyadeal PIA, Airblue, flynas, SereneAir about 5 hours

Airlines change schedules every season and usually add flights around Ramadan. Ask for the airline, flight numbers, times, any stops and the baggage allowance for your exact dates. Some fares sold as “direct” stop in the Gulf on the way.

Comparing the Options from Quetta

OptionProsConsBest for
Quetta non-stop to JeddahLocal; simplest journeyLimited days; one airline; no MadinahFlexible dates, Makkah first
Quetta–Karachi flight, then non-stopWide choice of dates, airlines and Madinah flightsExtra flight; connection risk if on separate ticketsFixed dates, Madinah first, elders
Road to Karachi, then non-stopAvoids a domestic flightVery long driveRarely the best choice from Quetta
Connecting via the GulfSometimes more datesLayovers; tiringFit, flexible pilgrims

Our advice: check the Quetta flight days first. If one matches, take it. If not, ask for a Karachi routing on a single ticket.

Connecting via Karachi Safely

If you connect through Karachi, the connection is the part to protect:

Quetta's Climate vs Makkah's

Quetta's cool, dry climate is very different from Makkah's. In winter, Quetta can be freezing while Makkah afternoons are warm. In summer, Quetta is pleasant while Makkah is scorching. Quetta families often find the heat harder than expected.

Quetta as a Hub for Northern Balochistan

Relatives from Chaman, Pishin, Ziarat or Mastung often fly with Quetta groups. They should reach Quetta the day before the flight, allowing for checkpoints on the way, with CNICs and passports handy. Collect everyone's documents early, so visas move together, and ask for a group leader who speaks the language your elders are most comfortable with, whether Pashto, Balochi, Brahui or Urdu.

Choosing an Umrah Package from Quetta

Quetta families can choose any category. The difference that matters most day to day is how far the Makkah hotel is from the Haram, not the number of stars.

CategoryMakkah hotelRoomsUsually suits
EconomyFurther out; shuttle commonQuad or sharedFit, budget-first, repeat pilgrims
3 StarWalkable, not the closestDouble to quadFirst-timers, couples, small families
4 StarCloser, shorter walkDouble to quadFamilies with elderly parents
5 StarNearest bandDouble to quadVery elderly, Ramadan, special trips

A popular choice for Quetta families travelling with parents is a mixed package: a closer hotel in Makkah, where distance matters most, and a 3 star hotel in Madinah, where many hotels are close to Masjid an-Nabawi anyway.

How to Compare Umrah Quotes in Quetta

Two quotes that look alike can describe very different trips. Ask every seller the same questions so you can compare fairly:

When One Quote Is Much Cheaper

Before celebrating, check four things: the hotel’s exact name and walk, whether the flight is non-stop, whether meals are included, and whether the room is quad. The gap nearly always hides in one of these answers.

What Affects the Price of Umrah from Quetta

We don’t publish a fixed “from” price for Quetta because it would date within weeks. Send your dates and who is travelling, and you’ll get a written, itemised price.

Documents for Quetta Pilgrims

Check every traveller’s file early. Mismatched name spellings, expired passports (often children’s or elders’) and late vaccinations cause far more delays than visa refusals do.

When to Book Umrah from Quetta

Travel periodDemandAdvice
RamadanVery highBook as early as possible; the last ten nights go first
Rajab and Sha’banHighPopular pre-Ramadan window
December–January holidaysHighFamily season; book when school dates are announced
SummerModerateVery hot in Makkah — choose a closer hotel
Muharram and SafarLowerBest value; easiest to find close hotels

The Umrah visa must be used within 30 days of issue, so a good operator secures hotels and flights early but applies for the visa close to your travel date.

Families, Elders and Groups from Quetta

Elderly Parents

Three decisions matter most: the closest Makkah hotel your budget allows, a Madinah-first flight if one fits your dates, and rest days between travel, the Umrah and Ziyarat. Request wheelchair assistance when the ticket is issued — for both airports and both directions — and keep medicines in hand baggage with prescriptions and a few spare days’ supply.

Women

Saudi rules have relaxed for adult women travelling in organised groups, but operator policies and document checks still vary. Tell the operator about every woman travelling before booking, and ask for rooms with family members.

Children

Every child needs a passport, plus a B-Form or FRC to show the relationship. A family quad room is usually the best value. In the Haram, keep children close, put your phone number on a card in their pocket and agree a meeting point.

Large Groups

Choose one coordinator for documents and payments, book everyone on the same flight, and agree one gathering point. Relatives with different budgets can stay in different hotels and still perform Umrah and Ziyarat together.

What Arrival Day Looks Like

  1. Ihram: if you fly to Jeddah, men usually put on Ihram at home or at the airport and make the intention before the aircraft crosses the Miqat — the crew normally announces it. If you fly to Madinah, no Ihram is needed on the plane.
  2. Immigration and baggage can take a while in busy seasons. Keep passports, visa printouts and hotel vouchers together, and let elders sit while one person handles the luggage.
  3. The operator’s transport meets the group. Save the driver’s or representative’s number before you fly.
  4. Jeddah to Makkah is roughly one to two hours by road, depending on traffic.
  5. Check-in and Umrah: many groups perform Umrah soon after arrival. Anyone exhausted can rest first — they stay in Ihram, observing its rules, until they finish.

Money, Phone and Packing

Coming Home to Quetta

Checking an Umrah Operator from Quetta

  1. Check the Ministry of Religious Affairs list of verified Umrah operators — since July 2026, only verified companies may arrange Umrah.
  2. If a local agent is selling to you, ask which verified company actually holds your visa and hotels.
  3. Pay only by bank transfer to a business account, with an invoice and receipts.
  4. Get everything in writing: flights, hotels, rooms, meals, transport, validity and cancellation terms.
  5. Save the operator’s Saudi contact number before you fly.

Planning Umrah from Quetta: Step by Step

  1. Fix your dates, with Ramadan, school holidays and the weather in mind.
  2. Choose the departure airport — usually Quetta for Quetta — and check flights for your dates.
  3. Check everyone’s documents and fix any mismatches.
  4. Get vaccinated early enough for the 10-day rule.
  5. Request quotes with named hotels, flight numbers, room sharing and meals.
  6. Compare line by line, check the operator and pay by bank transfer.
  7. Install Nusuk and book the Rawdah slot for your Madinah dates.
  8. Plan the journey to the airport.
  9. Travel, with a hotel card for everyone and the operator’s Saudi number saved.

Budgeting Beyond the Package Price

The package covers the trip itself. Daily life in Makkah and Madinah is extra, and Quetta families who plan for it in advance travel far more relaxed. Amounts depend on your habits and the exchange rate, so agree a daily figure per person before you leave.

Extra costWhen it appliesHow to keep it down
Lunch and dinnerRoom-only or breakfast packagesEat at the many Pakistani and Indian restaurants near pilgrim hotels; share large plates
TaxisWhen the shuttle isn’t running, or elders are tiredPlan Haram visits around shuttle hours; share within the group

LaundryStays longer than a weekQuick-dry clothes; wash small items in the room
ZiyaratIf not in the packageJoin a group tour rather than hiring a private car

A Sample 10-Night Plan

This example shows a comfortable pace for a first Umrah from Quetta. Your operator adapts it to your flights, hotels and whether you start in Makkah or Madinah.

DaysWherePlan
1MakkahArrive, check in, rest; perform Umrah when ready
2MakkahRecovery day — prayers in the Haram, no extra walking
3–5MakkahPrayers, Tawaf at quieter hours, one morning of Ziyarat
6To MadinahRoad or Haramain train; check in and rest
7–9MadinahPrayers in Masjid an-Nabawi, Rawdah at your Nusuk slot, Ziyarat over two mornings
10–11DeparturePack, weigh bags, transfer to the airport and fly home

The principle is simple: travel days, the Umrah itself and Ziyarat each get their own day, with rest in between. It keeps everyone well enough to worship on every day of the trip.

Performing Umrah: The Sequence in Brief

This is a planning overview for Quetta pilgrims, not a substitute for learning the fiqh from a scholar you trust. Knowing the order explains why hotel distance and rest days matter so much.

  1. Ihram at or before the Miqat. Take a ghusl, men wear the two unstitched sheets, make the intention for Umrah and begin the Talbiyah. From then on, the Ihram restrictions apply.
  2. Tawaf. Seven circuits of the Kaaba, starting from the corner of the Black Stone, followed by two rak’ahs — behind Maqam Ibrahim if there is space, otherwise anywhere in the mosque. Upper floors give longer but quieter circuits, and have wheelchair routes.
  3. Sa’i. Seven lengths between Safa and Marwah, starting at Safa — about three kilometres in total, indoors and air-conditioned, with lanes for wheelchairs.
  4. Halq or taqsir. Men shave their heads or shorten their hair; women trim a small length from the ends. The Ihram restrictions then end.

Allow three to five hours for the whole sequence, and longer in crowds. That is why a long journey, a late check-in and a distant hotel together make the first night so demanding — and why resting first is sometimes the wiser choice.

Ziyarat in Makkah and Madinah

Most packages offer a short programme of visits to places connected with the life of the Prophet ﷺ and early Islamic history. Check whether Ziyarat is included in your quote and which sites are covered.

Spread Ziyarat over separate mornings rather than one long, hot day, especially with elders, and don’t schedule it on the same day as a long journey.

The lowest current group price is PKR 209,899 per person in a sharing room (PKR 213,499 quad, PKR 219,599 triple, PKR 231,799 double), including return flights and hotels: AirBlue from Karachi on 10 October 2026, 19 nights, Hotel Number One 3 in Makkah and Retaj Al Madina in Madinah (package UP-105409). Prices update from live inventory; your written quote confirms the final price.

For Quetta pilgrims the price depends on travel dates, the Makkah hotel’s walking distance, room sharing and whether you fly from Quetta or via Karachi. Send your Quetta dates and group size for a written, itemised quote, and confirm current price and availability before booking.

When we checked, PIA flew non-stop from Quetta to Jeddah on limited days, and we found no Quetta–Madinah flights. Because the schedule is thin, check the flight days before fixing your leave.

When no Quetta flight fits your dates, when you want to start in Madinah, or when you need more airline choice. Book the Quetta–Karachi connection on the same ticket as the international flight where possible.

Cold, occasional snow and fog in winter can delay early flights and slow roads around Quetta. Allow extra time, and pack for a big temperature change — Makkah is much warmer than Quetta in winter.

Yes. Relatives from nearby districts can join the same flight. They should arrive in Quetta the day before, allowing for checkpoints on the road.

Pashto speakers are common on Quetta groups, and Balochi or Brahui-speaking leaders can sometimes be arranged. Ask for the language you need when booking.

Only if your quote lists it. Tell us your Quetta area and group size, and an airport transfer can be priced in writing.

The ACYW meningococcal vaccine is given at designated vaccination centres in Quetta. Ask your operator for the current list and get vaccinated so the certificate is issued at least 10 days before arrival in Saudi Arabia.
