Check Available 2026 PackagesUmrah flights from Islamabad leave from Islamabad International Airport (ISB), and the Islamabad routes below were checked on 25 September 2026.
For Islamabad pilgrims, connecting options, Ihram timing and baggage rules are explained in our Umrah flights guide.
Hotels, inclusions, prices, documents and departure day are covered once in our full guide — choose what your Islamabad trip needs:
Islamabad pilgrims fly from Islamabad International Airport, which had non-stop Jeddah flights on PIA, Airblue, Fly Jinnah, AirSial and Saudia, and non-stop Madinah flights on PIA and Airblue, when we checked. Choose your package by the Makkah hotel's walking distance, allow for the drive west to the airport, and book early for Ramadan and the winter holidays.
Islamabad is one of the best-connected cities in Pakistan for Umrah. Its international airport had five airlines flying non-stop to Jeddah and two to Madinah when we checked, so capital families have a real choice of dates, fares and baggage allowances, and a genuine option to begin their trip in Madinah.
The capital also works as a hub. Pilgrims from Rawalpindi, the Potohar region, Hazara, Swat and Azad Kashmir all fly from Islamabad, and many Islamabad families have relatives overseas who want to join them in Makkah. This guide covers flights, the airport journey, regional and overseas coordination, and every planning step from documents to the day you come home. For the Umrah rites and hotel categories in general, see our complete Umrah guide.
When we checked airline schedules on 25 September 2026:
| Airport | Non-stop to Jeddah | Non-stop to Madinah | Flight time to Jeddah |
|---|---|---|---|
| Islamabad International Airport (ISB) | PIA, Airblue, Fly Jinnah, AirSial, Saudia | PIA, Airblue | about 5–6 hours |
Airlines change schedules every season and usually add flights around Ramadan. Ask for the airline, flight numbers, times, any stops and the baggage allowance for your exact dates. Some fares sold as “direct” stop in the Gulf on the way.
With five airlines on the Jeddah route, it's worth asking for two options for your dates. The difference in fare, departure time and baggage allowance between airlines can be larger than you'd expect, and the return baggage matters most once you're carrying Zamzam and gifts.
| Start in | Advantages | Things to consider | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Makkah (fly to Jeddah) | Umrah done early; most flight days | Ihram from Islamabad; Umrah may follow a night flight | Most first-timers |
| Madinah | Calm start; no Ihram on the plane | Fewer flight days; Umrah mid-trip | Families with elders |
If you start in Madinah, you put on Ihram at the Madinah Miqat (Dhul Hulayfah) when travelling to Makkah, by road or the Haramain train. Many families with parents find this the most comfortable way to do Umrah.
The airport lies to the west of the city. From the central sectors, the drive is usually straightforward outside rush hour. From outlying areas such as the newer housing schemes along the expressways, or from the far side of the city at peak times, it can take much longer. As a rule:
Winter can bring occasional fog and rain, and the monsoon brings heavy downpours in July and August. On bad-weather days, leave earlier. If you want a vehicle from home arranged, ask for it in your quote. It is only included if listed.
Many Islamabad Umrah groups include relatives from further away. If family are joining from Rawalpindi, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Muzaffarabad or Mirpur:
Islamabad families often have relatives in the Gulf, the UK or North America who want to perform Umrah with them. Those relatives travel on their own passports and visas and fly from their own country. Saudi Arabia's tourist eVisa has generally allowed Umrah outside the Hajj season for many nationalities, but rules change, so they should check current requirements.
The operator can book the Pakistan-based family and the overseas relatives into the same hotels on the same dates. Agree to meet at the hotel rather than the airport, and time the Umrah itself around the later arrival if you want to perform it together. If relatives abroad are paying, payment should go through banking channels to the operator's business account, with receipts.
Every category below is available to Islamabad pilgrims. The right one depends less on your budget than on who is travelling and how far they can comfortably walk in Makkah.
| Category | Makkah hotel | Rooms | Usually suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Economy | Further out; shuttle common | Quad or shared | Fit, budget-first, repeat pilgrims |
| 3 Star | Walkable, not the closest | Double to quad | First-timers, couples, small families |
| 4 Star | Closer, shorter walk | Double to quad | Families with elderly parents |
| 5 Star | Nearest band | Double to quad | Very elderly, Ramadan, special trips |
A popular choice for Islamabad families travelling with parents is a mixed package: a closer hotel in Makkah, where distance matters most, and a 3 star hotel in Madinah, where many hotels are close to Masjid an-Nabawi anyway.
Two quotes that look alike can describe very different trips. Ask every seller the same questions so you can compare fairly:
Before celebrating, check four things: the hotel’s exact name and walk, whether the flight is non-stop, whether meals are included, and whether the room is quad. The gap nearly always hides in one of these answers.
We don’t publish a fixed “from” price for Islamabad because it would date within weeks. Send your dates and who is travelling, and you’ll get a written, itemised price.
The delays we see most often are simple ones: a name spelled one way on the CNIC and another on the passport, a married woman’s surname that differs between documents, a child’s expired passport, or a vaccination taken too late for the 10-day rule. Check all four before you pay a deposit.
| Travel period | Demand | Advice |
|---|---|---|
| Ramadan | Very high | Book as early as possible; the last ten nights go first |
| Rajab and Sha’ban | High | Popular pre-Ramadan window |
| December–January holidays | High | Family season; book when school dates are announced |
| Summer | Moderate | Very hot in Makkah — choose a closer hotel |
| Muharram and Safar | Lower | Best value; easiest to find close hotels |
The Umrah visa must be used within 30 days of issue, so a good operator secures hotels and flights early but applies for the visa close to your travel date.
Three decisions matter most: the closest Makkah hotel your budget allows, a Madinah-first flight if one fits your dates, and rest days between travel, the Umrah and Ziyarat. Request wheelchair assistance when the ticket is issued — for both airports and both directions — and keep medicines in hand baggage with prescriptions and a few spare days’ supply.
Saudi rules have relaxed for adult women travelling in organised groups, but operator policies and document checks still vary. Tell the operator about every woman travelling before booking, and ask for rooms with family members.
Every child needs a passport, plus a B-Form or FRC to show the relationship. A family quad room is usually the best value. In the Haram, keep children close, put your phone number on a card in their pocket and agree a meeting point.
Choose one coordinator for documents and payments, book everyone on the same flight, and agree one gathering point. Relatives with different budgets can stay in different hotels and still perform Umrah and Ziyarat together.
The package covers the trip itself. Daily life in Makkah and Madinah is extra, and Islamabad families who plan for it in advance travel far more relaxed. Amounts depend on your habits and the exchange rate, so agree a daily figure per person before you leave.
| Extra cost | When it applies | How to keep it down |
|---|---|---|
| Lunch and dinner | Room-only or breakfast packages | Eat at the many Pakistani and Indian restaurants near pilgrim hotels; share large plates |
| Taxis | When the shuttle isn’t running, or elders are tired | Plan Haram visits around shuttle hours; share within the group |
| SIM or eSIM | Maps, WhatsApp and Nusuk | One data plan per family, shared by hotspot |
| Laundry | Stays longer than a week | Quick-dry clothes; wash small items in the room |
| Ziyarat | If not in the package | Join a group tour rather than hiring a private car |
| Wheelchair or pusher | For elderly or less mobile travellers | Bring a light folding chair, or arrange one early |
| Gifts and excess baggage | On the way home | Check the return allowance and Zamzam rules before shopping |
This example shows a comfortable pace for a first Umrah from Islamabad. Your operator adapts it to your flights, hotels and whether you start in Makkah or Madinah.
| Days | Where | Plan |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Makkah | Arrive, check in, rest; perform Umrah when ready |
| 2 | Makkah | Recovery day — prayers in the Haram, no extra walking |
| 3–5 | Makkah | Prayers, Tawaf at quieter hours, one morning of Ziyarat |
| 6 | To Madinah | Road or Haramain train; check in and rest |
| 7–9 | Madinah | Prayers in Masjid an-Nabawi, Rawdah at your Nusuk slot, Ziyarat over two mornings |
| 10–11 | Departure | Pack, weigh bags, transfer to the airport and fly home |
The principle is simple: travel days, the Umrah itself and Ziyarat each get their own day, with rest in between. It keeps everyone well enough to worship on every day of the trip.
This is a planning overview for Islamabad pilgrims, not a substitute for learning the fiqh from a scholar you trust. Knowing the order explains why hotel distance and rest days matter so much.
Allow three to five hours for the whole sequence, and longer in crowds. That is why a long journey, a late check-in and a distant hotel together make the first night so demanding — and why resting first is sometimes the wiser choice.
Most packages offer a short programme of visits to places connected with the life of the Prophet ﷺ and early Islamic history. Check whether Ziyarat is included in your quote and which sites are covered.
Spread Ziyarat over separate mornings rather than one long, hot day, especially with elders, and don’t schedule it on the same day as a long journey.
With five carriers to Jeddah, compare two for your dates, with baggage included.
Few Pakistani cities have Madinah flights. Islamabad does, so use them for elders.
Same hotels, same dates, meet at the hotel. It only works if booked together.
Close hotels sell out before flights do.
The airport is further west than many expect. Leave early.
Ask for flight numbers and stops.
One landslide can mean a missed flight. Bring them in the day before.
Check the operator on the MoRA list and pay only a business account.
Islamabad gives pilgrims wide airline choice and a Madinah option on their doorstep. Make the most of it by comparing airlines with baggage, choosing the Makkah hotel by distance and planning the regional or overseas side of your group early.
A practical takeaway: ask for your quote with two airline options, the hotel names and the baggage allowance in writing, then compare.
Pilgrims from these areas usually fly from Islamabad International Airport too. Each page covers local pickup and travel to ISB.
Send your Islamabad or Rawalpindi travel dates and who is travelling, and you’ll get hotel names, ISB flights and the full price per person in writing.
